October 1 marks the return of two important annual traditions at Cover the City Project: our Warm Wednesdays blanket drive and our $5K in 30 Days campaign.
And this year, that $5,000 matters more than ever.
For more than a decade, Cover the City Project has worked to cover our community with warmth and love by meeting needs in practical, immediate ways. We collect and distribute blankets. We provide socks, coats, hygiene items and other essentials. We work alongside shelters, schools, nonprofits, churches and community organizations to ensure donated items reach the people who truly need them.
Most importantly, we believe in collaboration.
When one of our partners tells us there is a need, we want to be able to say, “How can we help?”
This fall, we're beginning a new chapter in a new space while preparing for one of our busiest seasons of the year. Throughout October and November, Warm Wednesdays will bring thousands of blankets through our doors. Those blankets must be picked up, transported, sorted, stored and ultimately distributed throughout our community.
At the same time, the everyday work of Cover the City doesn't stop.
The socks still need to be delivered. The partner requests still come in. Families still need help. Organizations still call looking for resources. And we want to continue saying yes whenever we can.
That's why, once again, we're asking our community to help us raise $5,000 in 30 days.
For nearly 10 years, this annual campaign has given our friends, supporters and community partners a simple way to invest directly in the work of Cover the City Project. Every donation — whether it's $10, $25, $100 or more — helps us continue connecting resources with needs and ensuring generosity turns into real impact.
Your gift supports the behind-the-scenes work that makes all of this possible: transportation, storage, program expenses, supplies, distribution and the operational costs required to keep serving our community year-round.
We have always believed that you don't have to do everything to make a difference. You simply have to be willing to do something.
So this October, we're asking you to be part of it again.
Help us reach $5,000 in 30 days.
You can donate online through Cover the City Project or mail a check to our new address:
Cover the City Project
504 N. Main Street
High Point, NC 27260
And if you are unable to donate financially, please consider donating a blanket.
Throughout October and November, you can drop off a new or gently used blanket of any size at ANY A Cleaner World location throughout the Triad as part of our annual Warm Wednesdays blanket drive.
Every blanket matters. Every dollar matters. Every share matters.
There is a way for everyone to be part of this mission.
Because $5,000 isn't just a fundraising goal.
It's blankets being moved where they're needed.
It's socks reaching someone who doesn't have enough.
It's organizations getting resources for the people they serve.
It's allowing us to respond when someone calls and says, “We have a need.”
And it's our community taking care of our community.
Thank you for believing in Cover the City Project, for supporting this mission year after year and for helping us continue to cover cities with warmth and love.
