Westchester Country Day School, a PK-12 independent school, is looking for a Summer Camp Activity Leader. The Signature Camp Activity Leader is responsible for planning, leading, and implementing high-quality recreational and educational activities for campers at Camp We-Co-Da at Westchester Country Day School.
This role requires creativity, strong leadership skills, and the ability to design developmentally appropriate programming aligned with camp themes. The Activity Leader ensures a safe, engaging, and supportive environment that encourages learning, exploration, and positive social interaction.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
• Plan, organize, and deliver a variety of structured activities based on camper interests and program goals.
• Create developmentally appropriate, inclusive, and engaging lessons/experiences that promote curiosity, creativity, and skill-building.
• Provide proactive and continuous supervision to maintain camper safety and adhere to all safety protocols.
• Develop and maintain positive, supportive relationships with campers and summer staff team members.
• Model professionalism, integrity, and positive behavior, reinforcing camp values of respect, responsibility, and teamwork.
• Attend required training sessions and daily staff meetings.
• Additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
• Experience working with children in educational, recreational, or camp settings required.
• Background in education, youth development, recreation, or related field preferred. College degree is preferred.
• Strong organizational, instructional, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to design and lead engaging activities across a variety of program areas.
• CPR/First Aid certification preferred (or willingness to obtain).
