Lace up, show up, and take stand against domestic violence. Walk a Mile Against Domestic Violence returns to Winston-Salem on Saturday, October 3, at The Quarry at Grant Park. Join Family Services as an individual, team, or virtual participant to help raise awareness, support survivors, and strengthen our community during Domestic Violence Awareness Month. Check-in begins at 9:00 a.m., followed by a one mile Walk at 10:00 a.m.
This is what change looks like: sneakers on pavement, side by side, a whole community moving in the same direction. One mile. One community. One powerful stand against domestic violence. The one-mile event is family- and dog-friendly, with activities before and after the Walk. Attendees can earn fun prizes and be rewarded for reaching fundraising goals, enjoy local food and retail vendors, a kid zone with crafts, face painting, balloon animals, games, and more. Walk a Mile Against Domestic Violence is about more than completing a route. It's a very public statement that violence has no place in our community and that every survivor deserves safety, dignity, and hope. Every step taken and every dollar raised helps support life-changing programs and resources focused on preventing, intervening, and responding to domestic violence in our community. Whether you walk in honor of someone you know, in memory of someone you've lost, or simply because everyone deserves to live free from violence, your participation matters. Participants can register individually, create or join a fundraising team with friends and family, or support the cause virtually from anywhere.
Registration, fundraising information, and team sign-ups are available at walkamileforsyth.org.
