Are you a business interested in offering second chances to individuals with criminal records, but are hitting organizational roadblocks? Are you looking for support to expand your second-chance hiring model? Join the Fresh Start Collaborative on Tuesday, December 10th at 9am for an insightful webinar featuring Dominique Grimes-Medlin, Workforce Readiness Director for the NC SHRM State Council. In this session, Dom will share essential practices for building successful second-chance hiring programs, including best practices for hiring/onboarding, available toolkits, and certifications through SHRM to support your efforts. We will also explore key government incentives and highlight other resources designed to help businesses implement and sustain inclusive hiring practices. No matter where you are in your second-chance hiring journey, this webinar will provide the resources and guidance you need to build a more inclusive, diverse workforce. Don’t miss out! The Fresh Start Initiative is a strategic collaboration between organizations to educate the community on how to positively engage with and support justice-involved individuals as it relates to employment. In 2023, this collaborative decreased the hiring stigma of those with criminal records by 28% among those who attended Fresh Start Initiative events. Participating organizations in this Fresh Start Initiative event include Triad Goodwill, the Greensboro Chamber of Commerce, the Guilford County Reentry Council, and the Department of Health & Human Services.
