HIGH POINT CONVENTION AND VISITORS BUREAU PARTNERS WITH FIDO PARKS OF HIGH POINT FOR PRIME TIME ON MAIN EVENT Event raises awareness for FIDO Parks of High Point HIGH POINT, N.C., Oct. 10, 2016 — The High Point Convention & Visitors Bureau (HPCVB) is partnering with FIDO (Friends’ Initiative for Dogs Off-Leash) Parks of High Point, to raise awareness of the efforts being made to create a privately funded dog park in High Point. The HPCVB and FIDO Parks of High Point will host a Halloween Costume Contest for dogs during the upcoming Prime Time on Main event, October 25, 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Participants are encouraged to dress dogs in costume and bring them to the Regional Visitors Center. There will be exciting prizes awarded for different categories and home-made dog treats will be a prize for all participants. “FIDO Parks of High Point is excited to partner with the High Point CVB in bringing awareness to the community about our dog park concept,” says Jim Bronnert. FIDO Parks of High Point will be available to answer any questions and offer information on the proposed dog park. “With Halloween at the end of the month, this partnership made perfect sense and is a creative way to get the word out about what this organization is working hard to accomplish. Opportunities to increase the number of amenities for the community, and our pets is only moving us in the right direction,” says Nancy Bowman, director of sales and marketing with the HPCVB. The event will be held in the parking lot of the Regional Visitors Center. The community is invited to come and participate, enjoy refreshments and stay for the judging, taking place at 6:30 p.m. # # # About the High Point Convention & Visitors Bureau: The High Point Convention & Visitors Bureau (HPCVB) is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to promote and encourage economic development in High Point through travel and tourism. The HPCVB works closely with meeting planners to bring events to High Point and to enhance their experience here, providing white glove assistance with event planning tasks including registration, transportation, and coordination among various venues. These services ensure that every group event will be successful down to the last detail because we want each visitor to make yourself at home. Established by state legislation in 1984, the HPCVB is an independent 501(c) 6 nonprofit organization funded by a self-imposed three percent room occupancy tax on local hotels. No taxpayer funds – city, county or state – are used to fund the HPCVB. The Regional Visitors Center is located at 1634 N. Main St., High Point, N.C.
